How it Began

Buttercream was our family’s beloved syrian hamster from 2018 – 2020.  We started her in a small cage from Petsmart, but soon learned how quickly they outgrow these (um, 5 minutes?!)   We built this site with the mission to help new hamster owners care properly for their unique pets with the best products and methods.

Buttercream taught us about love, life, and the importance of caring for one another.  I hope she’s smiling on us from the rainbow bridge.  We love you Buttercream!

Hamsters deserve to be loved and cared for properly.  Since they were first introduced to the pet market in the 1970s, hamsters have been amusing and delighting us at home. However, there have been misconceptions about how to properly care for these precious animals.  Hamsters NEED proper:

Lots of Love

Your hamsters will enjoy exploring and spending time with you. Your hamster won’t “snuggle” with you like a cat or dog, but will enjoy exploring with you and special attention.  Who doesn’t love special attention? You should be prepared to spend time with your buddy, feeding them and keeping their environment clean.
